OMG y’all, I have got to share some of the craziest house plans I have ever seen! They are straight out of South Africa, where apparently they do things a little differently than we do here in the good ol’ United States of America. Don’t believe me? Check out these wild designs:

Alright, this is a pretty tame one to start off with. But can we all take a moment to appreciate that gorgeous blue sky in the background? Seriously, I would move to South Africa just for the weather alone. Anyway, back to the house. It’s got three bedrooms, which is pretty standard, but it also has a circular entrance that is just begging for some kind of grand entrance. I’m thinking a red carpet and some paparazzi. Anyone else?

Ooooh, now we’re talking. This house is definitely pushing the boundaries of what we consider “normal.” I mean, why have a boring old rectangular house when you can have one with all these crazy angles and different levels? I have no idea how anyone would clean those windows, but who cares when your house looks this cool?

Whoa. Okay, this one might be a little too wild for even me. I mean, it looks like it’s made out of some kind of futuristic metal material. And those weird little balcony things? I have no idea what they’re even for. But you know what? I kind of love it. It’s like something out of a sci-fi movie. Maybe I could convince Elon Musk to make it his next Mars colony design. Just a thought.

Now we’re getting into the big leagues. This sucker is a double storey (that’s right, double storey, not story) and it looks like it could house a small army. I mean, look at all those windows. But you know what’s even crazier than the size of this thing? The fact that it’s all angular and asymmetrical. I have no idea what kind of vibe they were going for here, but I am digging it. Maybe it’s supposed to look like a giant puzzle piece. Who knows?

Okay, I know what you’re thinking. “But wait, didn’t we already see a 3 bedroom house plan?” Yes, we did. But this one has a garage, so it’s totally different. Plus, look at that gorgeous tree in the foreground. You could sit on that little step thingy and have a picnic or something. As for the house itself, it’s pretty standard, but I like how they incorporated the garage into the overall design instead of just tacking it on as an afterthought.

This one might be my favorite. I mean, just look at that roof! It’s so flat and sleek. Also, it looks like the house has its own little zen garden area. I would love to just sit out there with a cup of tea and contemplate life. Or, you know, watch Netflix on my phone. Whatever floats your boat.

And finally, we have this beauty. It’s sort of a mix between a regular ol’ house and a castle, which is a combination I never knew I needed until now. I don’t know much about architecture, but I’m pretty sure those little towers are called turrets. How cool is that? I want turrets on my house. Anyway, I’m not sure what’s happening with that random patch of grass in the foreground, but you know what? It adds to the charm. I can just picture myself lounging on that balcony with a glass of wine, feeling like a fancy lady.
So there you have it, folks. South African house plans are weird, wonderful, and totally worth checking out. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to convince my husband that we need to move to Africa and live in a castle with turrets.
