Lumines II soundtrack may surprise some You might be expecting a bunch of J-Pop you've never heard of to fill the soundtrack for the next Lumines title. Well that isn't the case. Q Entertainment will be using a whole bunch of western music for this game. The music videos for the songs will be playing in the background while the game is played.
  • Beck - Black Tambourine
  • Black Eyed Peas - Pump It
  • Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar
  • Fatboy Slim - Gangster Trippin'
  • The Go! Team - Bottle Rocket
  • Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl
  • Hoobastank - Born to Lead
  • Junior Senior - Take My Time
  • Junkie XL - Breezer
  • Ken Ishii - TBA
  • Missy Elliot - Lose Control
  • Mondo Grosso - various, exclusive to game
  • New Order - TBD
  • Stigmato Inc - Reality Check
  • TECHRIDERS - TBA
Also be on the lookout for Lumines Live for the Xbox Live Arcade.

Sigma_Crow: I think I'd prefer the Jpop, if Hoobastank and the Black Eyed Peas are the other option.
Bun_Again: I hope Hollaback Girl is the theme from some really hard level I'm too incompetant to unlock.
Sigma_Crow: Remember that really old...Playstation(?) game where you played as the Greek Heros and had to fight stuff, and if you died, you went to hell and had to fight your way back to the living realm? That's the scenario I envision for that song. It's a punishment level. Makes me glad I don't own a PSP.
Bun_Again: Perhaps the both the XBL and PSP versions will let you import your own tunes and shut off the videos. BTW, there are lots of good reasons to own a PSP.
Sigma_Crow: I'm sure there are, but they don't really interest me. Plus, UMD video has pretty much gone the way of Betamax. Not that I think anyone really expected it to take off.
druie: Lumines Live for XBLA will feature all Western music, allegedly. You'll be able to download extra songs/skins from the Marketplace--something sponsored by Warner Bros. Records. Lumines II for PSP is, according to an interview with Mizuguchi, supposed to have "100 songs", and it's been reported that many of the J-pop artists will have recurring roles on the North American version's soundtrack once again (Mondo Grosso, Techriders, and Ken Ishii--GameSpot). These Western tracks are just a small portion of that number in an attempt to make the game more mainstream. Mizuguchi also said in another interview that it's a very good chance the game will feature a remix mode where you can replace, edit, and reorder skins. So, it shouldn't be too hard to cycle any songs you don't like out of the mix.
Bun_Again: You dont buy UMD movies... that's not one of the reasons....you import your own movies from your PC. ;) And as always Druie rocks with the info and the XBL stuff sounds awesome. This game is a must-buy regardless of the music anyway.
im unstoppable: i have girls gone wild on umd. i masterbate to it.
Inferno101487: Ok please never tell us something like that again im_unstoppable... btw what happens if u squirt ur PSP? lol imagine complaining about that to Sony customer service ROFL
